Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA), a trade association representing 29 area hospitals and Ascend Innovations, were previously housed in an existing office space in Tech Town that was disconnected, closed-off, and outdated. In order to create a collaborative environment, both organizations relocated their office spaces to the Fire Blocks District of downtown Dayton. The relocation project required a fit-out of approximately 12,000 SF of interior workspace.
The design of the workplace took into account the historical structure and architectural features of the building and existing perimeter brick was left exposed and painted an accent color, drawing attention to the textural detail of the exposed surface. Modern finishes and interior components contrasted the rich historic architectural features that were left exposed as part of the overall design experience. The subtle use of color and branding incorporated throughout the space connected the two organizations with a collaborative work environment.
The use of glass and wood were also constant design features and efficient planning and programming allowed for a large hospitality and conference area. Individual workspaces, an employee workcafe, and internal huddle rooms were included to maximize space and employee workflow.
